Hunstanton's One-Act Drama Festival is a three day event for local drama groups who are invited to perform a One-Act play (either an original script or an excerpt from a longer play) to a paying audience, which is then adjudicated and the winning play from each category is presented with an award at the Gala Awards evening on the last of the three days. The event, previously staged at the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton has now moved to the theatre stage in Hunstanton's iconic Town Hall.
The Festival aims to encourage and support live amateur theatre and presents around 10 short plays from youth and adult groups over the three days usually with two evening sessions (Friday and Saturday), two matinees (Saturday and Sunday) each consisting of two or three performances from different theatre groups. The adjudicators will give on-stage comments on the performances at each session before deliberating in a closed session as to who deserves which award.Â
